larc has an interesting thread going about why jw men choose to date (and beyond) worldly women in lieu of dating the seemingly overbundant supply of 'horny' sisters available.
i recommend it.. it set me to thinking about yet another interesting phenomena in jwdom.
that is the situation where the jw woman has, as a husband, a 'non-believer'.
Two points that have been made here 1. The bottom line is that its money that talks and which JW man can provide materially on a janitors salary. Most of the JW sisters will tell you money is not important but when it comes down to it yes that is important to them.
2. Most JW men if they have been brought up as a JW are lacking social skills. I remember when I was a teenager their was a few guys my age that were not raised as a JW's and just being converted. Well the majority of us that were raised as a JW were not a match socially to these outsiders. The sad thing is it has taken me 40 years to develop social skills but it was only after I pulled away from the Borg. I still have some insecurity but it is a lot better.
Also another point with me is that most JW sisters want to change you tight away. They can't just except you for who you are. I am sure it goes the other way because when I was still in the Borg I would be very judgmental and opinionated. It has taken me years to learn what the word unconditional love means.

Sounds like the WTBS is doing some damage control. I am sure the mother organization is flowering it up their NGO membership and relating this information to the body of elders. This way the elders will have the same explaination to all their critics.

this has been something that has been in the back of my mind for quite a while.
are those claiming to be of the anointed amongst jehovah's witnesses really going to heaven?
many jw' view them as being on a higher spiritual plain than the average jw and that they view the bible as a personal letter to them.
The only annointed I knew were all in their eighties and their minds were going on them. The one old lady lived alone in a old shack and the only time the congregation made a fuss over her was on the memorial. Otherwise the poor old lady would go back to her shack and stay there tell next years memorial. It was quit sad.

I went through the same thing 8 years ago. I was an inactive JW at the time and they came calling on me for my "improper" conduct. They didn't like it because I would not kiss their butts. All I remember is how for an hour straight they did nothing but condemn me by reading one article after another. I thought at the time that if they really wanted to help me they would have had more compassion and understanding. I was DF after because I didn't show any repentance.

I agree, it does depend on who you are. Money does talk as I have a nephew who's wife screwed around on him but because her father was an elder and well to do they did not DF her. They sure like to preach the evils of money but they are not stupid enough to cut off their noses despite their face. A bunch of hypocritical bastards.
